How long does it take to charge an electric car like the Chevy Bolt EV? EV charging time is faster and more convenient than some Portage drivers may think, sometimes taking less than a half-hour, depending on the charging method you use. Chevy recommends purchasing a home charging station for much faster charging. In fact, Chevrolet will pay for the installation of a 240V charging outlet for those who purchase a Chevy Bolt EV or Bolt EUV. Here are the charging times for these home methods:
