Chalk The Lot

Come watch our parking lot transform into chalk masterpieces!

FUN is had in COLOR! 

Check out local artists in three categories as they create beautiful chalk art and compete for prizes!

WHEN: Saturday, June 12th, 2021 – 7am-2pm
WHERE: DeNooyer Chevrolet Parking Lot, 5800 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI 49009

SPECTATORS
Members of the community are welcome to stop to watch live chalk art being created. Registered artists will be showcasing their work and create one-of-a-kind pieces of art during this time using chalk on our lot. This event is family friendly and free to the public! Art creation happens from 7am-Noon and judging will happen from Noon to 1pm with awards immediately following.

VOTING
Make sure to vote for your favorite by texting CHALKVOTE to 269-200-2264. Top vote getter will win the award for  $250 + a Membership to the KIA (Kalamazoo Institute of Arts). All voters will be put into a drawing for a set of 1-day passes to the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts – we are giving out 10 total sets!

ACTIVITIES
In addition to the live art there will be drinks and snacks as well as family friendly games and activities for everyone to enjoy, including a chalk obstacle course, hopscotch, chalk bullseye, cornhole, kids car course and more!

PRIZES
Judges will award the top prizes for each category – Teen, Adult and Team between Noon-1pm. Winners will get a $250 Cash Prize + a Membership to the KIA (Kalamazoo Institute of Arts).
